Taking a particular interest in documentary film making, I have experience ranging from creating short form films for the cinema looking at the Miners strike of ’84 to smaller personal pieces working with young adults with disabilities as well as filming live performances and promotional content for social media and websites.Below is a breakdown of my work and skills gained from my experiences.
University
Completed a three year degree in Film and media studies at Sheffield Hallam University, receiving a 2:1
•Working on both drama and documentary productions tackling the challenges both bring.
•Experience working as an, editor, director, screenwriter and cinematographer throughout my time at University.
•Working within Pro-Tools and other software as sound designer, creating soundscapes and editing dialogue.
•Creating a number of different documents such as shot lists, story boards and pitches.
•Working to deadlines with different clients and businesses to produce promotional work as well as documentary subjects.
•Interviewed prominent industry professionals for different modules, including editor Eddie Hamilton.
•Graphic design work including film posters, logos and websites.
•Managing social media accounts for our projects and productions.
Social Eyes Rotherham
A care group based in Rotherham aimed at helping adults with a range of learning disabilities grow, achieve and succeed.
•Working closely with young adults with disabilities to help produce a range of promotional material for their day centre.
•Filming live stage shows, working with sound cameras and lights as well as filming band performances.
•Editing footage to create DVDs to release to the public as well as creating cover art and posters.
Docfest
An international documentary festival held annually in Sheffield. Since starting in 1994 the festival now includes not only film screenings but interactive and virtual reality exhibitions, talks and sessions.
Hired as the jury coordinator lead, my duties included;
•Organised a team of people to complete tasks on time and to a high standard.
•Meeting and greeting jury members who would be judging the talent, introducing them to our teams and making sure they attended necessary screenings.
•Worked closely with event leaders to pick out relevant tasks for jury members as well as organising time tables.
Morton Music Academy
Local Business aimed at teaching guitar lessons to people off all ages using a mixture of face to face sessions and interactive media.
Hired as the videographer, my duties included;
•filming and editing short music tutorials for social media.
•Promotional photography work.
College Student Magazine
Completed a 2 year course in Interactive media at Hillsborough College, receiving a triple distinction star.
Hired as the graphic designer, my duties included;
•Organising the content for each issue, the layout and marketing strategies.
•Working with journalists to film interviews with members of political parties.
